As someone that has lived in and around the Roanoke Valley most of my life, I’ve set up my laser engraving business with a focus on items for the region and of course the state too.

Today, I want to share with you a few unique gifts that clients purchase from me on a regular basis and give you an idea of the best Roanoke gift ideas around.

Roanoke Map Plaque

These are small plaques that I make with the City of Roanoke (I make many other places too). It’s an 8” by 10” wooden plaque with all the streets engraved in the city, including the Roanoke River.

I wanted something that people could put in their homes and admire at their desks, perhaps on a shelf or even on the wall if they wanted. While there are a ton of places online to buy maps of Roanoke, I’m the first and only to actually live where I produce them.

I offer them in various stains and with or without a stand too.

Mill Mountain Star Plaque

I also make a Mill Mountain Star Plaque too, similar to the Roanoke one above, it features Mill Mountain Star. Like the Roanoke plaque, it comes in several different stains.

I’ve been kicking around the idea of making a layered version of this with LED lights in it, maybe in 2023 I will give that a try?

Roanoke Blue Ridge Mountains Art Panel

This is a lot of fun to make and this layered art piece features the city of Roanoke in a single-line format. With 7 layers, I paint each one and glue them together to make a 5” by 7” art panel for displaying.

The fun thing about the art panels is that I can paint them with a variety of schemes, so if sunsets are your thing, I could give that a try.

Roanoke Simple Line Display

Finally, I offer a cool 4” by 6” simple line cityscape of Roanoke City. I put Mill Mountain Star on top of the city which rounds out the display.
