What is a Birth Plaque?
Many people will see birth plaques for sale online and get them for the baby’s room, oftentimes as a gift from parents, family, or close friends.
But what is a birth plaque and why does it make a great gift?
A birth plaque is often times a wooden plaque with important information listed on the piece, the day of the birth, time, weight, length, name, and usually the time of day.
Couples tend to like this piece because it showcases their child's information and it makes a wonderful keepsake for friends and family to see!
They make wonderful gifts because as the children grow up, it’s something they can hold onto into adulthood.
I make them here in my shop as an 8” by 10”, 1/8th inch thick using the laser engraver. This template design can be stained, and I offer a few different choices:
Natural (no stain)
Light Cherry
Golden Oak
Red Mahagony
Ipswich Pine
Most couples choose to leave it natural and color the laser design themselves.
